Updated October 10, 2026. This page used to be a step-by-step PeekYou opt-out guide. There is nothing left to opt out of: PeekYou.com no longer shows people listings.

What happened to PeekYou?

When we loaded peekyou.com on October 10, 2026, the whole site was a single "Domain Update" page. It says the domain is now controlled by Atlas Data Privacy Corporation, and that Atlas and PeekYou LLC settled the lawsuit Atlas Data Privacy Corporation, et al. v. PeekYou LLC, et al. (Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex County, Docket No. ESX-L-003299-25).

Atlas brings claims under New Jersey's Daniel's Law, which protects the home addresses and unpublished home phone numbers of judges, police officers, prosecutors and other covered people. You can read the notice yourself at peekyou.com.

What it means for you

  • There is no PeekYou listing to remove. The profile pages, search and opt-out forms are gone, so there is nothing to submit.
  • Old copies can linger in search results. If Google still shows a PeekYou snippet with your details, the page behind it is gone, and you can ask Google to refresh it with its Remove outdated content tool.
  • Your details did not come only from PeekYou. PeekYou pulled together public profiles and records that other people-search sites collect too. A site going offline removes one copy, not the others.

Where your details may still appear

PeekYou was best known for tying a name to social profiles. These sites, which were still online when we last checked, cover similar ground:

Frequently asked questions

I filed a PeekYou opt-out before the site went down. Do I need to do anything?

No. With the site offline, there is no listing to follow up on.

Could PeekYou come back?

We can't say. If peekyou.com starts showing listings again, the old opt-out steps may not apply, so start from the site's own privacy page.

Is it worth checking the rest of the sites?

Yes, if you want to know where you are listed today. A site going dark does not change what the others publish.
