Pipl's removal request is a short form at pipl.com/personal-information-removal-request: give your name and email address, choose Deletion, say what you want removed, and watch your inbox, because Pipl may email you to verify the request. Pipl's own privacy pages link to this form as its opt-out.

Pipl is an identity-data company. Its California Privacy Notice says it provides or sells publicly available personal information to the users of its services, mainly for identity verification, compliance, fraud prevention, contact enrichment and investigations. Its privacy policy says that data includes names, email addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers and IP addresses, gathered from public sources and third-party data providers. Its site lists online marketplaces, payment companies, fraud investigation teams and people and background search platforms among the businesses it serves.

Checked against Pipl's live removal request page, its California opt-out form, its "My Information & Privacy" page, and its privacy policy and California Privacy Notice (both last updated May 26, 2026) on October 23, 2026. We read the pages; we did not submit any form.

How to remove yourself from Pipl

  1. Go to pipl.com/personal-information-removal-request. The page is headed "General deletion or disclosure."
  2. Enter your Full Name and Email Address. Both are required.
  3. Phone Number and Address are optional. Pipl's California opt-out form says the more information you give, the more accurate and faster the process will be, so consider adding the phone numbers and addresses you want removed.
  4. Under Type, choose Deletion. The other options are Disclosure (to ask what Pipl holds about you) and Disclosure + Deletion.
  5. In Message, which is required, list what you want removed, such as other email addresses, phone numbers and past addresses.
  6. Solve the math problem and click Submit. The form also carries a reCAPTCHA check.
  7. Pipl says it may email you to verify the request, and to watch for its emails over the next few days. Reply to what it asks.

We stopped before submitting, so we did not see what comes after. Follow what Pipl's email asks.

California residents: more routes

Pipl's California Privacy Notice lists three ways to make a request, and calls the opt-out form the easiest, with a quick response.

  • Opt-out form at pipl.com/privacy-documents/ccpa-opt-out-form, for California residents only. It asks for your full name, email address, phone number and address (all required) and an optional message. The notice says Pipl does not need to verify your identity for an opt-out, but may deny one it believes in good faith is fraudulent.
  • Disclosure or deletion form at pipl.com/ccpa-disclosure-form. Identity verification is required, and the notice says Pipl may ask for a copy of your California picture ID.
  • Phone: (877) 616-1115. Pipl says phone requests take longer.

If you are not a California resident, the California opt-out form sends you back to the general removal form above.

What Pipl may keep

Pipl's pages are direct about the limits of a removal.

  • Its "My Information & Privacy" page says that, in some situations, its interests in identity verification and preventing unlawful practices may override your request, and that it will tell you if it can't stop processing your data.
  • The same page says information you asked to remove may still be provided for purposes such as crime investigation and law enforcement.
  • It also says that, because many of the largest e-commerce companies use Pipl to verify identities, removal may mean extra identity checks when you shop online.
  • Pipl says it can't correct records. If something about you is wrong or out of date, it asks you to request removal through the same form.

How long does it take?

The removal page gives no deadline; it only says to check your email over the next few days. The California Privacy Notice says Pipl confirms a disclosure or deletion request within 10 days and tries to respond within 45 days, or up to 90 days if it tells you within the first 45 days that it needs longer and why.

The same notice reports that in 2025 Pipl received 19,227 deletion requests and 507 opt-out requests, complied with all of them in full, and took a mean of under one day to respond.

If it doesn't work

  • Email the privacy team. Pipl's privacy policy gives privacy@pipl.com and (877) 616-1115.
  • Write. The Pipl pages we read don't give a mailing address. California's data broker registry lists Pipl, Inc. at 510 S. Clearwater Loop, Suite 100, Post Falls, ID 83854.
  • Use an authorized agent. The California Privacy Notice says Pipl may require either your written permission for the agent plus verifying your identity directly with Pipl, or a power of attorney that is witnessed by two people or notarized and meets California Probate Code sections 4000 to 4465.
  • EU, UK and Switzerland. The privacy policy lists the phone number, the request form and privacy@pipl.com, and says unresolved Data Privacy Framework complaints can go to BBB National Programs.
  • California residents. Pipl, Inc. is on California's data broker registry, so it is one of the brokers the state's DROP deletion request reaches. See the California Delete Act guide.

Why your details can come back

Pipl's California Privacy Notice says an opt-out covers the personal information on its systems at the time, and that it has no effective way yet to apply it to information it finds or receives later. It says you may submit a new request as new information about you becomes available. After you move, change your phone number or start using a new email address, consider filing a Disclosure + Deletion request to see what Pipl holds and ask for it to be removed again.

Pipl is an identity-data company, so it isn't one of the people-search sites in Defynta's free scan, and Defynta doesn't file removals with it: this one is do-it-yourself. Run the scan to see which of the sites we track list your name, phone and address.
