USATrace is a people-search front end. Search a name and it shows a preview of a person's profile, then sends you to a partner for the full report. Its own pages say the previews are "Powered by PeopleFinders", and USATrace says it stores none of that data itself.
That shapes the removal. USATrace can block a profile from showing on its site, and the same block covers its sister site QuickPeopleTrace. It cannot delete the record, because the record lives at PeopleFinders. Do both: block the preview here, then opt out at PeopleFinders.
Steps checked against USATrace's Your Privacy page and privacy policy on October 18, 2026. We read the pages; we did not search or submit anything.
What is USATrace?
USATrace.com is run by QuickLocate LLC of Mechanicsville, Virginia, according to its privacy policy. It offers:
- People search by name, city and state
- Reverse phone lookup
- Background check and marriage and divorce record searches
- A search that asks for the first three digits of a Social Security number
QuickPeopleTrace.com is a near copy: its search boxes send you to USATrace's results. USATrace's Your Privacy page names both sites when it describes what a block covers.
Before you start
- Skip the SSN search. You never need to type any part of your Social Security number to find or block your profile. Use the name search.
- Know your name variants and past cities. Each matching result has to be blocked on its own.
- Plan to finish at PeopleFinders. The block only hides the preview on these two sites.
How to remove yourself from USATrace, step by step
Step 1: Open the Your Privacy page
Go to usatrace.com/your-privacy/ (linked from the site footer). The page explains that USATrace is not the source of the records and that it can block the preview from appearing.
Step 2: Search for your profile
Use the people search on that page: first name, last name, and state are required (you can pick All); middle name and city are optional. The page also shows a "Please verify that you are human" check.
Step 3: Block each matching result
Next to each result that is you, use the button to request a profile block. The page says each relevant result has to be blocked the same way, so work through all of them.
Step 4: Allow 48 hours
USATrace says the change can take up to 48 hours to show across its servers. The page mentions no confirmation email.
Step 5: Opt out at PeopleFinders
USATrace's page says that opting out with the data broker removes your information from sites that preview it, USATrace included. Its people search names PeopleFinders as the source, so follow our PeopleFinders guide: one free form, no account.
Can I email or call instead?
USATrace's privacy policy gives research@usatrace.com and (848) 305-1340 for anything about your personal data. It says requests to exercise privacy rights get an answer within 45 days, with up to 45 more in exceptional cases. The block button is faster; use the email if the button does not work for you, and include the name, city and state the result shows.
Verify the removal
After two days, search your name again on usatrace.com and quickpeopletrace.com in a private browsing window. A result that is still there gets another block. Check PeopleFinders on its own schedule (see that guide).
Why your listing can come back
A block hides a specific result. USATrace's page is clear that it does not remove the information from the source, and new public records can create a new result your old block does not cover.
Re-check every few months. Defynta's free scan does not check USATrace or QuickPeopleTrace, but it does check PeopleFinders, the source of USATrace's previews. Silver subscribers can turn on monitoring, which rescans PeopleFinders and the other sites we read every 30 days by default and emails you when a listing comes back.

Frequently asked questions
Is the USATrace opt-out free?
Yes. The block is free, and so is PeopleFinders' opt-out.
Does blocking on USATrace delete my data?
No. USATrace says it does not store the data and that a block only stops the preview from appearing on USATrace.com and QuickPeopleTrace.com. The record stays with its source until you opt out there.
Do I need a separate removal for QuickPeopleTrace?
No. USATrace's Your Privacy page says the block covers both sites. Check both afterwards anyway.
Why does USATrace ask for part of my Social Security number?
That is one of its search types, not part of the opt-out. You do not need it to find or block your profile.
