uFind.name calls itself a people search engine over public online records. Its home page lists person lookups, marketing data, vehicle history, patents, business registrations, court documents and domain name records. Results are organized by name, one page per name, at addresses like ufind.name/FirstName+LastName.
Its opt-out is about as short as they come: one form, one field. It also tells you almost nothing about what happens next, so the checking afterwards is on you.
Checked against uFind.name's opt-out page, FAQ and privacy policy on October 18, 2026. We read the form; we did not submit it.
What is uFind.name?
A free name search that pulls together records published elsewhere online and, its privacy policy says, information from third-party data suppliers. The site does not name the company behind it on its opt-out, FAQ or privacy pages. Its FAQ says the service may not be used for screening job candidates, stalking, or identity fraud, but it does not describe how removal works; the opt-out page is the only place that does.
Before you start
- Find your name page first. The form needs the page's URL, and nothing else identifies you.
- Note every spelling. A page exists per name, so "Jon Smith" and "Jonathan Smith" are different pages.
- Expect no email confirmation. The form asks for no email address, so uFind.name has no way to write back.
How to remove yourself from uFind.name, step by step
Step 1: Find your page
Search your name at ufind.name and open the result for your name. Copy the URL from the address bar. It should look like https://ufind.name/FirstName+LastName.
Step 2: Open the opt-out page
Go to ufind.name/opt-out (linked as "opt-out" in the footer). The page is titled "Submit Your Opt-Out Request".
Step 3: Paste the URL and send
Paste your page's URL into the one required field, complete the hCaptcha check, and click Send URL. There is no email field.
Step 4: Repeat for each spelling
Each name page needs its own request.
How long does removal take?
uFind.name does not say. Check again after a week.
Verify the removal
Open your page's URL in a private browsing window. Two things to look for:
- Is your entry gone? That is the result you wanted.
- Is the whole page gone, or just you? A name page can cover several people who share the name. The form does not say whether it removes the page or only your entry, so look for your own details (city, relatives, phone) rather than the page itself.
If your details are still there after two weeks, submit the URL again. The site lists no email address or phone number for removals, so the form is the only route it offers.
Why your listing can come back
uFind.name gathers records published elsewhere and information from data suppliers. When those sources update, your details can return, possibly on a page with a different spelling of your name.
Re-check every few months. Defynta's free scan does not check uFind.name. It checks the people-search sites shown in your scan results, and Silver subscribers can turn on monitoring, which rescans the sites we read every 30 days by default.

Frequently asked questions
Is the uFind.name opt-out free?
Yes. One form, no account, no payment.
Will I get a confirmation?
Not by email: the form takes only a URL. Check the page yourself.
Can I email uFind.name instead?
The site's own pages list no removal email address, so we can't point you to one. Use the form.
Does the opt-out remove my data from the sites uFind.name draws on?
No. It can only affect uFind.name. The sources keep their copies until you opt out with each of them.
